UDAWALAWE

Sri Lanka has a number of National parks which are famous due to different animals. While there are many more leopards on record in Yala National Park, Udawalawe National Park is more famous for its elephants. In fact, if you are keen on watching elephants among other animals, then you are at the right park; Udawalawe! In a safari here you are assured of several shots of elephants and probably the babies of these gentle giants. Located at the southern part of Sri Lanka and covering an area of only 308 square kilometers (119 square miles), Udawalawe National Park provides home for more than 500 elephants. While the park occupies a comparatively small territory, and the focus is made on a large number of elephants, these factors increase the probability that you will succeed in tracking these animals.
